Tadalafil is a medication used to treat male sexual conditions such as erectile dysfunction. Tadalafil works by increasing blood flow to the genital area during sexual stimulation, helping to achieve and maintain an erection for longer during intercourse.
Tadalafil works by inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) found in body tissues, including those in the male genital area. Inhibiting this enzyme increases levels of a chemical called cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which helps relax blood vessels and increase blood flow to the genital area.
